About Numa MinistriesCore values: Authenticity, relevance, flexibility, efficiency, simplicity, focus on purpose of mission 11th Street Numa Church is an autonomous, independent congregation of disciples following Jesus Christ. We are self governed, under the authority of the Scriptures and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We choose to associate with the mission endeavors of the Cooperative Program through the Tulsa Metro Baptist Association, the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma and the Southern Baptist Convention. We also support other mission and ministry entities as the Holy Spirit leads. The vision of 11th Street Numa Church is to be a flexibile and relevant group of dynamic disciples of Jesus Christ. With that in mind, Numa Church has no immediate plan to purchase property and construct buildings. Rather, we presently rent a facility that suits our worship and discipleship needs. At some point in the future, Numa Church may purchase a facility that will aid in reaching our goal of daily ministry to the Tulsa community, as defined by our Lord in Matthew 25. However, this facility will serve only to advance the cause of God's Kingdom and not burden our financial resources in accomplishing our core values. In the Spring of 2008, Numa Church was recognized by the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma as the lead church in financial giving to the Cooperative Program (missions) in the category of new church plants. Believing that genuine discipleship happens best in a small congregation, Numa Church will never be a "large church." When we reach a certain point of numerical growth, it is one of our core goals to start another church that will carry out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) with the same passion and vision as this one. Dr. T. David Willets - Pastor/Teacher
David is the senior pastor of Numa Church. Before starting Numa Church in January of 2007, he was a senior pastor in Louisiana for 3 1/2 years and at Parkview Baptist Church in Tulsa for 18 years. Dave grew up in Tulsa. Pastor Willets has a testimony of God's faithfulness in the midst of devastating tragedy. On March 4, 2004, his wife of 27 years, Leesa, and 18 year old daughter, Lauryn, were killed in a car accident. From that painful experience, David witnessed the Sovereign hand of Almighty God move in his life and ministry. Through God's sustaining grace and awesome direction of each step, David married a new love and partner in the ministry, Melanie, on July 29, 2006. They reside in the Mapleridge neighborhood (midtown) of Tulsa. Dr. Willets is an educated and experienced spiritual counselor. If you have need of this ministry, David is willing to meet at your convenience and help in any way he can.
